Hamburg eliminated the Scrappers from the Class 4A South regional baseball tournament with a 10-1 victory Friday afternoon at Malvern.
Nashville’s only score came in the top of the third inning when Zach Jamison stole home.
Hamburg led 5-0 after the first two innings, then added 3 runs in the fourth and 2 in the sixth to take the win.
The Lions had 15 hits and no errors against the Scrappers. The Scrappers had 3 hits and 3 errors.
Scrapper hits came from Jamison, Dalton Smead and Hunter White.
Lucas Liggin pitched 6 innings for Nashville.
With the loss, the Scrappers’ season ended. Nashville compiled a 20-8 record with a team that included 6 freshmen and sophomores among the starting line-up.
The Scrappers won the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament and finished third in the District 7-4A tournament.
Nashville defeated Dierks 6-3 in a non-conference game May 6 at Wilson Park.
The Scrappers led 3-0 going into the fourth inning before Dierks put together 3 runs to tie the score. Nashville took the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth and added 2 runs in the sixth to seal the win.
Nashville recorded 10 hits against the Outlaws and committed 1 error. The Outlaws had 7 hits and 1 error.
Scrapper hits included 2 each from Nick Myers, Lucas Liggin and Dalton Smead, and 1 a piece from Jackson Beavert, Jamison, Chris Willard and Tyler Hanson. Myers and Hanson scored 2 runs each, with 1 each from Beavert and Willard.
Nashville had 3 RBIs, including 2 from Liggin and 1 from Myers.
Preston Pope and Willard shared pitching duties for Nashville.
Jarrett Fox was the leading hitter for the Outlaws with 2, followed by Caleb Dunn, Tyler Kesterson, Caleb Adams, Trendin McKinney and Lane Woodruff with 1 each.
Dunn, Kesterson, Woodruff and Fox all saw pitching duty against Nashville, striking out 3 Scrappers while giving up 10 hits and 6 runs.
